Yes to Life – Movement Class with Live Music

May 1 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm CEST

DKK160
Many traditions, such as shamanic and Celtic, celebrate the 1st of May as the beginning of summer. In other words, they celebrate the return of light and fire outside as well as inside.
It is the perfect time to say yes to life and to that which wants to live inside of us. We all have a part of us that is vital, potent, unbroken, present, expressive, and in the flow of life. This part is our will to live, our innermost “yes” to life. It is what the ancient Greeks called Eros.
We will celebrate the resilience of the fire inside of us that burns brightly no matter how dark and meaningless life may sometimes seem. That light inside of us is our nature and our resource.
In this movement class, we will allow our “yes” to move us through and beyond our resistances, traumas, shadows, and inner turmoils. We will allow our “yes” to show us who we can be and who we are if we courageously and unapologetically surrender to our will to live.
This movement class will be followed by a string quartet from The Royal Danish Academy of Music.
What is a movement class?
The body-oriented and mindfulness-centered approach lies on two principles- the first is that the body and the psyche are inseparable, and the second is that healing exists within us.
A movement class focuses on free and spontaneous movement, anchoring us in the present moment and in what is real and alive within us.
These classes explore the energy dynamics in the body, recognizing that stuck patterns and emotions are forms of energy seeking balance and completion.
When we consciously and spontaneously move, we open our flow. We move beyond old patterns and allow ourselves to become an authentic expression of our soul.
Movement  practices stem from the origins of body-centered psychotherapy and have developed throughout the years. We use structured movement and breathing exercises that focus on emotional regulation and expression. We use conscious dance, storytelling, meditation, and guided fantasies. We also use authentic movement which means that we allow the wisdom of our body to find a spontaneous way of reaching balance and expression.
